How it works

Solar my Suburb is a Sydney Eastern Suburbs initiative jointly run by Randwick, Waverley and Woollahra Councils.

We provide free independent advice and support to help your Club or community organisation go solar, from start to finish. The entire process usually takes between 6-12 months.

Step 1

FREE SOLAR FEASIBILITY

Pre-feasibility visit & assessment by our consultant to:

Determine roof suitability, electrical infrastructure and any refurbishment or heritage considerations

Analyse electricity consumption and usage patterns
Free expert feasibility report showing right sized system, best location and estimated costs and savings.
We discuss the report with you and key decision makers

Step 2

FUNDING THE PROJECT & TENDER PROCESS

Information and support in accessing and applying for grants and fundings
We provide tender and contractual documents so you can seek quotes from reputable solar power suppliers
We help compare and evaluate these quotes with an independent expert

Step 3

SOLAR GETS INSTALLED

We assist with getting the system installed by your chosen solar supplier.
Includes solar monitoring so you can track and report on your energy generation and bill savings
5 years of yearly solar maintenance included
Our team may also arrange an independent compliance inspection to make sure the system has been installed properly and safely.

Step 4

CELEBRATION & PROMOTION

Solar is a good news story, and your leadership within the community to go solar is worthy of celebration! We can help publicize your project via existing Council communications channels and media.
